The hikes
While one trail gives you the best opportunity to meet mountain goats with their spring babies, the next trail leads you to the very edge of one of the interior's largest glaciers. One thing all hikes definitely have in common is the wild flowers. Well over 100 different varieties dominate all meadows with huge carpets of striking colours.
Not every guest wants to go on more extended hikes. For these guests there are excellent shorter hikes, such as via Honeymoon Lake to the lower Moon Hill Ridge, the large alpine plateau of Mirror Lake, exploring the large potholes carved into the bedrock over thousands of years by the energy of a glacier-fed creek and the Twin Falls on Carnes Creek, or just relax at the Chalet Knoll and Marmot Lake. Whether you are a flower-lover, taking photos or video or simply reflecting on the amazing alpine hiking from very short to longer trails, we can guarantee, the Durrand Glacier area will never disappoint you. Your visit to this very spot on our earth will remain with you for the rest of your life, whether you just relax,go for a shorter walk or fill your day with a longer hike.
