The best time of year to hike at the Durrand Glacier Chalet is from beginning of July until late September. While July and August are the best
months to experience the fresh alpine flowers, September is a time of year when hiking in the alpine is just as good. The alpine meadows turn into a
strong golden-yellow and a rust-red.
Waterfalls and lakes are as beautiful in the fall as during the summer months. Wildlife viewing continues on through the fall. During the months
of July and August SME caters to individual guests as well as to groups with a maximum of 20 people. After Labor Day, for the month of September,
SME will only run programs with 6 or more guests.
