There is nothing more glorious than a high-alpine meadow midsummer. If you like the experience of hiking there, you'll love coming here. If you like high alpine hiking, you'll love to come here. This is a spectacular wilderness of peaks, waterfalls, lakes and wildlife. Oh yes, over 100 varieties of wildflowers, too.
We have built over 80 km of trails throughout the area to make all our favourite spots accessible to our guests. They are yours to explore on your own, or to hike with a guided group. Each trail leads to its own particular magic. It may take you to a spot where you are likely to enjoy lunch in the company of mountain goats. Or a peak where the eagles above regularly ride the updrafts. Or just to a meadow filled with colour and joy. The Durrand's heavy snowpack is best known for creating our fabulous skiing. But then it melts into the soil and provides moisture for the rich carpet of wildflowers that the area is also famous for.
What's your ideal wilderness hike? We can point you towards the perfect route for you, your interests, and your level of experience and fitness.
